End of Week 2--Discussion [The Book Thief]

Week 2 has come to a close. Are you loving the book? Feeling "meh" about it? Hating it?

This week's reading selection was pages 138--276. In case you have a different edition of the book where page numbers might not be accurate, the chapter titles that correspond are Enter the Struggler--The Losers.

If you were unable to make the reading goal in time for last week's discussion, HERE is a link to our Week 1 discussion. Feel free to jump in at any time. Discussion for any week is ongoing, just be sure to keep your comments according to the reading assignment so as not to give spoilers for anyone just starting.

The questions for our discussions are numbered so you can answer by number in the comments.

Please be clear about which question you are answering . Also, with our comment setup, other participants can reply directly to your comment, as well as subscribe to all comments given so everyone can keep up with the discussion!

Don't feel like you have to answer every question, and if you would like to present a question that is not on the list, feel free to do so. To have your question included in the discussion for the week, please e-mail us by the Friday before Discussion day so we can be sure to get it in there.

Let the discussion begin! (Don't be shy!)

1. What were your favorite quotes/moments/passages from the week's reading?

2. What did you/didn't you like about what you read this week, and why?

3. Do you feel there is any difference in Liesel's stealing books vs. what she & Rudy get into? Why/why not?

4. How do you feel about the introduction of the new character, Max Vandenberg?
